Inner Daria

So… I picked up the May issue of Vogue, dedicated to American women, (and I must say, I’ve always had a bit of envy for the East Coast upper crust, Martha’s Vinyard trotting, Ralph Lauren schmoozing, classic American style.. sigh), anyway, I saw the shoot with Daria, and thought! OH WOW! Now that’s an outfit (the one where she is carrying the Hermes bag, in the Alexander Wang (?)  I think, it isn’t in front of me, and yeah I’m on the net and could research it, but …. schmeh pants and topper…. that outfit! Back to my thought: I THOUGHT I’ll do what Daria does, and despite all my wishing, my hair didn’t magically grow 20 inches and look nearly as luscious in the shoot, nor did my Zara pants turn into the Wang (?) …. either way, I found it inspiring, and here’s my weekend wear, version of the inner Daria…..

Shoes Nine West; Pants Zara; White Shirt Club Monaco; Vest Vero Moda; Bag Danier; Bracelet Vintage; Watch Hermes; Head Scarf & Glasses Flea Market find;

Oh so you’re telling me I’m MILES away from Martha’s Vinyard…. Touche.

Ok, well forget Daria… I’ve got a Frank in my court. I love him and his smelly dog farts.

Off to race the weekend!

  2. Lovely outfit. I think the idea to give outfits a theme is brilliant.

    This outfit looks very much like some that Katherine Hepburn would have worn. Except for the pants, hers (and mine if I’d try this outfit) would have been longer and a lot wider.

    Personally I like the second last picture best. The vest is cool.

    Cheers, San

  3. Since I know the exact editorial you are referring to, and since I live in the New England area..I have it on authority that you are positively rocking this look babe!

  4. Seeing you wear your headband makes me confident that you are one of the few girls that could easily pull off the now so fashionably turban.

  5. I saw the Daria pics and although I’m not a big Daria-fan I just loved the styling of this editorial. I think you’ve made a pretty awesome interpretation of it and I just love when we can get inspired but still make it “our own”!
